7th Annual Massillon Youth Basketball Shootout Tournament
Register your team now for this popular Northeast Ohio event March 18th, 19th, 20th, and 21st with the YMCA of Western Stark County and the Boys & Girls Club of Massillon. Teams of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade boys and girls are guaranteed three tournament games, all of which will be played on brand new hardwood floors at both locations. YMCA Lifeguard Certification Course
If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard, this course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to become one and is a great opportunity to recieve gym credits or train for a fun job. The course is open to anyone 16 years of age or older with the ability to swim 500 yds, tread water for 2 minutes (legs only), and surface dive 10ft to the pool bottom then swim underwater for 15 ft. The course begins April 10th with classes held on Wednesdays from 3pm to 8pm and Saturdays from 8am to 4pm through April 28th. Classes are held at the Massillon Family YMCA. Spring Soccer 2010
Registration is now available for the Spring Instructional Soccer Program for children ages 3-5 and for the Spring 2010 Youth Soccer League for children ages 6-14. The instuctional program will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30p to 6:15p at Massillon Middle School from April 6th through May 4th. For the Youth Soccer League, practices begin the week of April 5th and games the week of April 19th. Click here for more information or to register online.
Massillon Tiger Trot 5k Run/Walk - April 3, 2010
Register now for this special event to benefit the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. You can run or walk the 5k at 9:00am. Click here for detailed information including age groups, awards, and online registration. You may also register in person at the Massillon Family YMCA or Towpath Trail YMCA. This event is part of the 2010 Subway Challenge Series.
Healthy Kids/Healthy Earth Day 2010
Join us at the Towpath Trail YMCA on April 17, 2010 from 10:00a to 2:00p for Heatlhy Kids/Healthy Earth Day. No registration is necessary; this event is free and open to the public. There will be several local businesses and organizations on hand with fun things to do and see, healthy snacks, a bounce house, 10 minute pony rides, and much, much more! Kidz Kardio
Get your kids exercising today for a healthier tomorrow. This is a fun fitness class specially designed for kids ages 4 to 12 years old. As a member of the YMCA, this class is absolutely free. Class is held every Monday at the Massillon Family YMCA from 6:00p to 6:30p and every Wednesday at the Towpath Trail YMCA from 5:30p to 6:00p. No need for members to register, just bring your kids and watch them have fun.
Youth Programs for Just $5
 At the YMCA of Western Stark County, a family membership comes with youth programs for only $5 per session! Some restrictions apply, but not many. Swimming lessons, gymnastics classes, dance classes, and youth sports are just some of the youth programs that are now just $5 per session with a family membership. You pick the day and $5 is all you'll pay for the month. See a branch for complete details. We have also expanded our land & water fitness classes to inlcude more than 65 classes FREE every week for members including Turbo Kick and Zumba. We have also added discounts to our preschool and before/after school care for members. Finally, we have expanded our scholarship program to extend income based membership rates to anyone interested.
